Throughout my entire life, I have experienced firsthand the incredible healing power of complementary medicine, but it was at the age of twelve when I had my first real experience of how powerful this medicine can be. This was a time of great change and many new challenges in my life. I had been seeing an complementary holistic doctor as my primary care physician and he uncovered a long list of food sensitivities that I had. Along with the food sensitivities came a number of digestive and other health concerns. I continued to work with my holistic doctor and implemented new dietary and lifestyle habits into my daily routine. I’m happy to say that my food sensitivities and digestive concerns have resolved.
It was through these experiences that my passion for naturopathic medicine developed and I knew that it was what I wanted to do as my future career. Before I could dive into Naturopathic Medical studies I needed to complete my Bachelor of Science degree and did so at the University of Waterloo. I then continued on to the four year program at the accredited Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor under the RHPA, with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
I began my clinic work in my own practice in Parry Sound, Ontario and since then have moved back to southern Ontario where I practice in both Oakville and Burlington.
In my practices I integrate scientific knowledge with traditional healing wisdom and I utilize the core naturopathic treatment modalities while holding a specific interest in the treatment of food sensitivities and digestive concerns. In addition to my schooling, I has taken extra training courses in Nutrition and BioEnergetic Sciences and have added electrodermal screening to my practice (see my blog post on this topic!).
I’m continually learning and updating my skills as a Naturopathic Doctor.
I love educating and sharing my knowledge with not only my patients, but with the community as well through leading talks at various local businesses, teaching the 10 week Life Watchers program at Goodness Me! in Mississauga and by writing articles published in Goodness Me!’s in-store magazine “Nourish”.
It is my goal to provide a comprehensive and supportive approach to health care, while treating each patient with compassion and empathy. I am passionate about naturopathic medicine and look forward to assisting you in achieving your health goals.
I’m here to help you achieve wellness…the natural way!
